03 – Diagnostic

The peripheral has a bank of DIP switches which, when appropriately selected, define various operating modes of the front LEDs: “OFF” indicates the raised position, “ON” the lowered position and “X” indicates that the described functionality is independent of the position of that DIP switch. Only the first four switches are relevant for controlling the behavior of LEDs.

In case of errors when starting the connection, the previous logic is replaced by FLASHING the following leds:

  • 8 led (L1 to L8): problem (hardware) communicating with the modem
  • 7 led (L1 to L7): SIM not detected
  • 6 led (L1 to L6): SIM detected but requires a PIN code
  • 5 led (L1 to L5): no APN configured
  • 4 led (L1 to L4): at least one of the MQTT broker parameters is not configured
  • 3 led (L1 to L3): authentication to MQTT broker failed

Flashing signals are in order of priority. For example, if the APN is not configured and the SIM is not inserted, 7 LEDs will flash, the error on the APN (5 flashing LEDs) will only be reported after fixing the higher priority errors.
