Recovery codes allow users to access the portal even when the authentication app is not available.
Each code is valid for a single use and is automatically deactivated after being used.
When the number of remaining codes drops to five or fewer, the system displays a warning suggesting the generation of a new set of codes.
Recovery Code Regeneration
Recovery codes can be regenerated at any time from the User Preferences section.
The regeneration process:
- creates a new set of 20 codes;
- invalidates all previously generated codes;
- allows downloading the new list of codes.
It is recommended to delete the previous codes and keep only the most recently generated set.
2FA Reset by Administrator
The administrator can reset the Two-Factor Authentication configuration for a specific user.
After the reset, the user will be required to reconfigure 2FA at the next login by linking a new authentication application and generating a new set of recovery codes.
