When creating a new user, it is important to carefully select the item “Allow access to”, as you can decide whether to enable access to a sub-customer or the main client. The correct choice depends on specific operational needs.
Sub-customers are mainly useful for commercial purposes: for example, a reseller who wants to avoid that his customers see each other will necessarily have to create separate sub-customers. Profiles, on the other hand, are used to assign a user access to a specific group of plants, regardless of the client/sub-client structure.
The main differences between a customer and plant groups are as follows:
Customers:
- Users can only be invited to customers, not to the plant groups.
- Customer-related users can be used as recipients of reports and alarms.
- Users can be associated with the customer profile.
Plant groups:
- They are simple containers of plants.
- Can be used to create custom profiles.
- They are used to organise and group plants according to individual criteria.
The tool for managing plant groups allows you to create and modify plant groups and sub-customers.
To access the Plant groups management page, once in the “Tools” section you will need to click on the button “Plant groups management”:

Once the button is clicked, the Plant groups management will appear and you can create, delete and edit plant groups and customers.
